Festival Outline

Purpose

Eisa dance has been performed as a traditional event since long ago, during the Bon period on the lunar calendar. Today, it represents the traditional performing arts of Okinawa in and outside the prefecture, attracting widespread popularity. Youth Furusato Eisa Festival Project aims to stage this traditional culture as a new resource in the field of tourism to contribute to the promotion of the tourism industry in Okinawa Prefecture, and to encourage mutual interaction among young adults and sound nurturing of juveniles.
